Frequently Asked Questions.

What is the relationship between Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator and the Tennant Biomodulator® PLUS, Acuscope and Myopulse?
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator, more commonly referred to as a TENS unit and pronounced as "tens", is an electronic device that produces electrical signals (milli-amps) used to stimulate nerves through unbroken skin. The TENS units are bombardment devices, meaning they are not capable of "knowing" or delivering the exact current that the cell(s) need. The Biomodulator, Acuscope, Myopulse and Neuroscope all have the capability of delivering the correct current and frequency to the cell(s) by first measuring the tissue through the device’s biofeedback circuitry. When current is introduced to a cell, if it is off even a millionth of an amp, that is the difference between the cells utilizing the energy or not. The correct term for microcurrent TENS devices is MENS, “Microcurrent Electrical Nerve Stimulation”
Does treatment with microcurrent hurt?
Microcurrent treatments do not hurt. Because the stimulation is so small, it usually is below our sensation threshold. When the microcurrent stimulation is felt, this is an indication of a lower voltage in the area, so the feedback microprocessors in the Tennant Biomodulator® adjust the output of the current and frequency sets automatically. Remember microcurrent "whispers" at tissue as opposed to "shouting" at it.
How can microcurrent be so gentle yet help me reduce pain and improve my health?
Our body’s neurological network transmits millions of electronic signals through the body. We don’t feel these currents running through us, unless we have pain and/or disease. These indications are indicative of the “energy blockages” in the body resulting in poor health. Our voltage can be brought up by nutrition, intake of alkaline water and ‘energy medicine”. Adding energy to a pain site immediately after an injury can accelerate the healing by up to 50%. Chronic pain can be resolved by addressing the cause of the pain and providing the appropriate voltage to bring these lesions into balance.
How many treatments are required before I feel a reduction in pain?
In most cases, clients feel a reduction in pain in the first two sessions, depending on the cause, its severity and medications taken. It is important to drink LOTS of alkaline water to hydrate the body. This is the electrolyte that will be charged to bring up our voltages and help us “hold” the energy. Once you bring up the voltage and balance the area of concern, the tissue starts to function normally and we begin the “healing” process. Each treatment with the Tennant Biomodulator® is accumulative as the body begins to accept the voltage, use it and store reserves for future use.
I don’t sleep very well. Can microcurrent therapy help improve my sleep?
Sleep is VERY important for “wellness”. If we don’t sleep well, our body cannot repair itself after a day’s hard work. We succumb to injury, headaches, illness, disease and we are constantly run down and irritable. Cranial Electrical Stimulation (CES) has been used to treat brain trauma for decades and is a common treatment for sleep disorders, stress, anxiety, depression and withdrawal. Stimulation is done with either ear clips or a headband. The energy that is applied to the brain simply puts us into a meditative state…a point of neutral, allowing our body to “reset” itself and begin repair. Once we improve sleep, pain is reduced and we feel better. The Tennant Biomodulator and the Neuroscope are 2 devices that can provide this treatment in the privacy of your home. The Neuroscope 230B has “pink noise” delivered by headphones. This noise balances the “circadian sleep cycles” and is ideal for depression, anxiety, jet lag and shift work. Treating the frontal points with the headband on the Neuroscope is indicated for depression, anxiety and withdrawal as well.
Are microcurrent devices safe to use and easy to use?
Microcurrent devices are quite safe because the output current is very small 1/100,000,000th. of an amp. The brain sends neurological signals through the body which are also considered "microcurrent" so these small currents provided to the body are more compatible to our own micro-energy signals. As a result microcurrent is readily accepted into the body through the skin. With intelligent "biofeedback regulated" devices like the Tennant Biomodulator®, the output of the device is determined by the "voltage" of the tissue it is treating. These are balancing devices so as they balance the voltage in the body, the output adjusts automatically so you cannot over treat an injury or harm anyone . It's kind of like a battery charger. With some initial training, anyone can learn how to treat their families pain issues with a Tennant Biomodulator® PLUS. and get effective results.
